U.S. Recalls Leader Brand Eye Drops, Risk of Eye Infections

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on November 2, 2023, that Cardinal Health, Inc.

The recall involves all lots of over-the-counter or non-prescription ophthalmic sterile eye drops supplied to consumers by Velocity Pharma, Inc. These products include Eye Irritation Relief, Dry Eye Relief, Lubricating Eye Drops, and LEADER Brand Lubricating Eye Drops in various package sizes.

The FDA said that patients using these affected products are at risk for eye infections that could result in partial vision loss or blindness.

Cardinal Health urges wholesalers, distributors and retailers to stop distributing these affected products and consumers to stop using them. They may return the affected products to the place of purchase.
