College Football Playoff rankings largely unchanged, Georgia remains on top

2 min read

The latest College Football Playoff rankings are out and there are few surprises for the top teams. The two-time defending champion Georgia Bulldogs remain at the top of the list, with Ohio State, Michigan and Florida State close behind. Washington and Oregon round out the top six.

There are a couple interesting games this weekend that could change the rankings. The biggest game will be in Corvallis, where Oregon will host Washington State. The Huskies will be trying to keep pace with the other powerhouses in the postseason while keeping Michael Penix Jr. in the hunt for the Heisman.

In other games, the Texas Longhorns will take on a resilient Iowa State team in Ames, Iowa. Texas is still on the cusp of the playoff bubble, so anything less than an easy win could dash their slim hopes. Next up for Tennessee is the two-time defending champions. The Georgia Bulldogs will visit Knoxville to face the Volunteers.
