Lakers’ newest addition, Wood, reports for duty to help James Blossom’s championship run

Lakers officials posted photos on social media welcoming team newcomer Christian Wood to report to the arena.

Wood, wearing a Lakers uniform, posed for a photo with the dome staff. The Lakers official wrote: “Welcome to the purple and gold, Wood!”

As previously reported, Wood signed a two-year, base salary contract with the Lakers, with a player option for the second year.

Wood is an all-around center, standing at 2.06 meters tall and weighing 113 kilograms. He has excellent scoring, rebounding and defensive abilities. Last season, Wood made 67 appearances on behalf of the Mavericks, averaging 16.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 caps, and shooting 37.6 percent from three-point range.
